A moment that has stirred up the GameFi community today. The @playcambria presale is both wild FOMO and a huge leap of faith. A brief breakdown of what is happening: 1. A million raised and a $3 million hardcap without tokenomics? Seriously? Raising a $3M hardcap in the current meta is a serious statement. And sending money blindly when we haven't even seen the tokenomics is rough. What is the supply? What about locks, vestings, cliffs, allocations? Zero information. Are people simply pouring $3 million into a project because they trust it? Perhaps for the average person this is normal, but for anyone with brains and a habit of assessing the market state, anticipating black swans, and calculating the risk of deadline shifts, this looks like a "red flag" the size of almost all of @cyberpunk unfulfilled deadlines. 2. The market in 3 months - what state will it be in? TGE is planned for June of this year. Throwing liquidity out of circulation for 3+ months is a massive opportunity cost. Nobody knows where the market will be in June; what if it’s the very peak of a bear market? We might enter a harsh downtrend or rot in a stale sideways market. Freezing liquidity for such a period without understanding basic metrics is a move purely for degens with extra money that hasn't been liquidated yet or hasn't dropped by -90%. But those are the minority, and given recent trends, they are quite a rarity. 3. Regional access restrictions. According to my personal observations, there were quite a few users from the CN segment in previous seasons. And restricting sale access for users from China seems, honestly, quite baffling. However, we all know how these restrictions are bypassed, so in my view, it’s a minor issue. --- 4. $3M is actually a quite achievable goal. Now for some reverse FUD. Yes, we are talking about Cambria. Remember the volumes and attention to past seasons (specifically the second one) - for their ecosystem, this is a very manageable raise. The cap will likely fill very quickly, purely on the inertia and hype of believers (there are a number of whales among the holders who believe in the project), and there is also decent bullishness in some EU TG alphas (NDA, DYOR). 5. Cult and product Cambria has already made it clear they are playing the long game, season after season. They have managed to gather a real cult around them. People are actually playing, not just entering to "flip"; they hire scholars and pay them real salaries for hours/efficiency. Expectations for the project are mixed. They know their core community will swallow any FUD and still ape in, which is actually surprising for today's market, lol. 6. Sale terms. Entering a sale at a $30M FDV with 100% unlock at TGE is more than pleasant conditions (in a good market). Considering that investors were getting into Cambria at $50M, there is an opportunity to enter at almost 2x lower, which is definitely a plus. TL;DR The risk/reward ratio here is extremely polarized. - For "smart money" that needs transparent conditions here and now - it's an obvious skip. -For those who believe in the power of the narrative, a loyal community, and are ready to risk liquidity until summer - this is a "gem" level project. - My thoughts - there should be profit here across the board; the only question is its size.
