0/ The Ethereum Foundation continues to explore DeFi as part of its treasury strategy. In Oct 2025, EF deployed 2,400 ETH + ~$6M in stablecoins into @Morpho Vaults V1. https://t.co/YKbq4hKYaK Today: another 3,400 ETH into Morpho, where 1,000 ETH in Morpho Vaults V2. Why Morpho? 👇

Some asked what is this "defipunk" the blog post and Vitalik talk about? 🤔 It's about protocols & apps which have a permissionless, open-source, and security-first approach. The policy from June 2025 reflects that in more detail: https://t.co/ObuzSWbFII Different categories will inevitably have different standards. Eg. for an algorithmic stablecoin, dependence on a single issuer is not unacceptable. For an RWA, it's unavoidable, though we'd favor designs that have done their legal homework to make a setup where users' assets cannot be stolen or even borrowed against without their consent (for example). Again, within each category, we focus on supporting the projects that are strongest on censorship resistance, privacy, open-source and security. The influx of institutional capital is a milestone for Ethereum and it will / has to grow. Part of our job though is to make sure market growth doesn't come at the expense of DeFi's core values. We sit right in the middle - helping these two worlds talk to each other without losing the principles that built this space. That (and the rest) are always personal opinions. To me, if the values of DeFi are discarded (the defipunk referred to), then the whole appeal somewhat vanishes at the same time. For example, if I as a user can only buy some opaque bad credit fund tranche with weak reporting - I won't be participating in that to begin with. There has to be a balance, so we'll listen and adapt.
