The problem with @jessepollak & @brian_armstrong launching content coins on @zora is that their content is not being purchased because it's good content. It is purchased because it is by a person affiliated with Base and/or Zora and the fact that this is the case goes against the point of the platform. Their vision for Zora is that the creator makes a coin and then posts content like any other form of social media but when the content is being speculated on solely because of affiliation, it is a problem. If you view any of @jessepollak or @brian_armstrong content, it is just meaningless and people buy it and lose $/get taxed on it repeatedly. If you have an actual creator making a creator coin and then posting content the content that is honestly fine. That model where it's legit content being speculated on and invested in is very different than what these two are doing currently.

It is very interesting that we have become comfortable again valuing projects on circulating market cap significantly more than FDV. Not too long ago, the market decided that VCs were just getting free bags by using high FDV and low circulating supply but it seems in the current climate (although it honestly isn't great @ a macro level), this has been forgotten. We also seem to have gotten away from revenue valuation and token utility some as well. These VC backed projects push such a high FDV and low float because when they unlock even if these things fall 50%+, they are still over the VC valuation in most cases (if they release the token). This is a product of good projects releasing like $PUMP, $ASTER, etc where eventually people believe they can be valued at FDV and not be over valued.

This is actually an equity equivalent investment via token/NFT. Anything else where you just own the token with no sense of conversion from real life actual revenue is a farce. Even when you do angel investing into startups it doesn't work like this. You never get distributed revenue, it just goes back into the business. You're betting on an exit or ipo (lol) in the event they don't issue their token. If @hyprfund can land good businesses with good revenue this would be a really good showcase for how you can convert real life business onchain and allow crypto holders a direct ownership %.

Jill, Its misleading from @jessepollak You're right to question it. He consistently gives these responses to people who are not informed, and they always respectfully agree with him bc they hear the pitch and feel like they didn't get it. You get value accrual if they make more content on zora. But if its external, you don't and if they had it before it's also irrelevant. So what happens is Balaji makes a zora and it pumps bc of his name and then dies bc it has no real use. Then the base team artificially pumps it with mindshare hoping that now people will buy zoras that represent people versus products bc the former has understandably not been working. But the reality is that no one will buy new posts (if there are any) that Balaji makes because that's the nature of crypto. No one is actively trying to value these posts at millions of market caps, so they all die. If you check any top Zora profile, almost all of which belong to base team members or Zora team members, you will see that any posts after the original coin which were made are all PnDs. In addition to this system not working for the before mentioned reasons, Zora itself is poorly contractually designed and invites extreme botting.

The newest launch from @PROOFplatform is @hyprfund It just went live following the whitelist period.
