If you didn't make it investing in crypto in 16 years you're not going to make it now as it gets exponentially harder as an adopted asset class. Most people were in a combination of too risk averse to be an early adopter and too lazy to put the work and effort in to understand crypto when the barrier to entry WAS high. Now it's the opposite, you have a billion ways to buy Bitcoin, almost everyone who wants to, can. For alts the barrier to entry discussion is around ability to launch. Previously you needed a smart dev to do it, now you just stick a picture on one of the 1,000 launchpads that exist and click go. Most people have given up on crypto because they rationally know it's-EV for them now. It's turned from an investors playground to a traders market. If you're looking to invest in anything other than bitcoin you have to avoid the 1,000 rugs that launch a day, the exit scams, the memes that have a lifespan of a week (see penguin as a recent example) and content with people who are selling everything on a 20% pump. The idea was we would sell Bitcoin to the bankers and that's what happened. The generational trade is complete. Does that mean it's over? Maybe. I certainly think it is for anything other than: - investing in Bitcoin. Bitcoin dominance goes parabolic over time imo. Or it goes to 0. Personally betting on the former, but I'd put the latter at 20% odds in 10 years. - buying low caps with an edge. Strong FA people are still crushing the trenches, e.g. agents on base. - trading altcoin rotations (ahhh my spaghetti). We will inevitably get some risk on rotations on alts, see privacy narrative. - building truly innovative projects. There are 1-2 areas that have not been done well and could be. The upside to low barrier to entry is building and delivering this is much easier. There is only so many times the masses can be mass extracted from before they wise up... Short term however, I still think more down and more bearish propaganda/ rage bait / general bad vibes on CT, as frankly that's what works. The trader era of CT is mostly over as everyone pushing trader content for 10 likes vs. shitposting a meme for 1m impressions really shows how our counter-parties brains are wired... tiktok brains with a 3 second attention span who expect to get rich in minutes. I must admit, I get a schadenfraude glee from taking their money in the orderbooks... but we have to adapt to the times. The place we knew as CT is dead. The OGs are either retired, washed, or liquidated. The new generation seems to be serial pumpfun ruggers and the tiktok generation love it. The only way this reverts is a big cleanse.... and it's coming imo. Soon we will be back to consensus being it's over and it'll "never pump again".... Good luck have fun.

Random Sunday musings. I find myself in a strange place with the market, wanting to be bullish and "it's going to go up forever" but it's hard to ignore the facts. - 10/10 wiped out a huge number of participants, some known, some unknown - Stocks are outperforming and have been outperforming crypto for some time with much lower systematic risk - Bitcoin OG's are dumping billions (and who can blame them, the goal was always to sell to the bankers). - Institutions have adopted crypto in a big way, and it's never been easier to buy/trade crypto. There are so many venues/avenues to do so now as well, so who really is left to buy that hasn't? - New VC launches at $1bn+ FDV are just slowly bleeding to $0; there's very little risk appetite left. The store of value bull case for Bitcoin is still true imo; and it will act as more of a tradfi linked asset. I think the local bottom is in for bitcoin dominance. The only real catalysts I can see in general is major adoption by nation-states i.e. strategic bitcoin reserves. Aside from that, most sectors of markets have been done by crypto - ai, gaming, memes, defi, rwa etc. etc. and have all had their 100x+ potential gems. TLDR: I'm bullish bitcoin still and likely always will be, purely from a SoV perspective. But with alts you need to be very particular and there are very few outperformers in this market atm.... that said, I'll probably be longing them for rotations still. Happy sunday.

As I sit here drinking my morning coffee on a beautiful Saturday, I thought I'd drop some random market musings. Bitcoin I've been bullish for a long time and think we see an explosive leg in the market. With Bitcoin close to ATH's it won't take much for us to send it over the edge and start trending up and to the right. OG whales sold billions in this range while new money accumulated, resetting the cost base to $100k~ per and the flywheel continues with treasury companies. Friends haven't asked me if now is a good time to buy yet, so I'll wait for that at $200k to dump on their heads (usually a good indicator that a top is imminent). Altcoins The dispersion is undeniable. There are literally millions of coins. My criteria is simple: - Has relative strength on spaghetti for trading ( https://t.co/nGDRIHXu4W ) - Have a good thesis about it - Very good r/r - e.g. very early There's really no need to over-complicate it. I trade four setups consistently these days, and over the past few weeks have experienced up-only P&L thanks to the grace of the market. Positioning I don't want to build 100s of positions, and I want to catch rotations by taking profit on trades that have played out. There is always another trade in these conditions. Example, with launchcoin we broke a parabola after running it +100%. Then rotated into Aster because it had relative strength and a good setup. Less is very much more given the dispersion and rotations in the market. Managing FOMO when you see others win is pretty tough, and having # of position limits as well as sizing and standard risk management will help you. Your day in the sun will come. Risk appetite As the market goes up and to the right, I will adjust my risk appetite massively. I'll still play breakout trades and spaghetti rotations, sure, but stops will be tight and there will be a point where rotations stop becoming potential swings. It's important to be mindful of both where you are in terms of euphoria and the market is, and adjust risk accordingly... as they can be very different. Personally I am close to it, but conscious the market is still strong and bitcoin hasn't even broken out yet. Assuming it does, it makes sense to still be relatively risk-on. Final Thoughts At the end of the day we are all here to make money and have fun. Try not to lose sight of what's important and burn out staring at a 1 minute chart. Now, lets get to it... 🫶
